Methods of food transport in domestic and international variants
Greenyard Logistics Poland carries out national and international transport of foodstuffs. For this purpose, we have logistics centres located in Warsaw, Poznań and Gdańsk. We transport ultra-fresh, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables between our centres in Poland, by road under controlled conditions and by container ship by sea.
Each method can be distinguished not only by the length of the route or the chosen mode of transport. Domestic and international logistics also differ in other details. The most important of these are:
- conditions and documentation – in international food transport, more complex documentation management is required, including health certificates, customs documents and cargo declarations. The transport of foodstuffs within a single country is not subject to such restrictive rules;
- type of logistics services – for international transport, the 3PL service option is most commonly used, which ensures that the most important logistics processes are delegated to an external company;
- transport capacity – this refers in particular to ensuring maximum capacity of container ships or refrigerated trucks. Food transport by road in the domestic variant can be carried out in a small format, while longer international routes require the delivery of as much freight as possible for economic reasons.
