Conditions for transporting dairy products
Dairy is one of those food products that require a narrow storage temperature range and the highest level of hygiene. For this reason, the transport of dairy products at Greenyard Logistics Poland is based on strict regulations for the storage, shipping and transport of dairy products.
In doing so, we apply a number of important principles that help to maintain the highest quality of dairy products from receipt at the warehouse to delivery to consumers. These include:
- cleanliness and hygiene – vehicles and containers used to transport dairy products must be cleaned and disinfected regularly. This prevents contamination and cross-contamination, which can affect food quality. Hygiene and disinfection rules also apply to staff and storage areas;
- controlled temperature – dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, cheese, butter or cream are sensitive to temperature changes. It is necessary to maintain constant and safe temperatures during transport. For example, fresh milk and dairy products should be transported at between 2°C and 4°C. For this, temperature monitoring systems and emergency processes are needed in case of damage or accidents;
- shock and damage protection – dairy products are fragile and susceptible to mechanical damage. For this reason, it is important to adequately secure the load to avoid shocks, tipping and damage during transport.
