The consequences of incorrect food storage
At Greenyard Logistics Poland, we are committed to ensuring a healthier future for consumers by providing nutritious and wholesome plant products and fruit. We are well aware of the consequences of storing foodstuffs in the wrong way. The greatest risks are:
- food spoilage. The growth of mould, bacteria and other micro-organisms through inadequate temperature or humidity can cause changes in the taste, smell, appearance and texture of food. This makes them unsafe or unfit for consumption,
- risk to consumers. Improperly stored food can become a serious health risk for customers, leading to food poisoning, allergies or intolerances,
- economic losses. Products that become distasteful or do not meet quality standards have to be withdrawn from the market, leading to financial losses,
- loss of consumer confidence. Improper food storage can damage their image and tarnish their reputation, especially if there are cases of food poisoning or product recalls.
Wastage, risk of poisoning or economic losses mean that food warehouses must be properly managed.
